William S. Griffin was elected chairman of the board of Rosser International, an architectural, engineering and program management firm headquartered in Atlanta. Griffin was previously the secretary of Rosser’s board of directors.

Griffin, the director of company operations, has been with the firm since 1968 and became a principal in 1977.


Ken Alabiso was promoted to deputy operations manager for Turner Construction Co. in Atlanta. He began his career with Turner in 1989 in Jacksonville, Fla., as an assistant engineer. He most recently worked as a project executive.


David J. Craft was named vice president of construction operations for Rodgers Builders in Charlotte, N.C. He has more than 13 years of experience in the construction industry.


David C. Dickey, a transportation and transit planning and engineering professional with more than 20 years of industry experience, has been named vice president and manager of transit and railroads business line at URS Corp. in Charlotte.

He previously served as vice president and manager of URS’s Charlotte office since 2001.


Neale A. Stralow, senior project manager and associate with WilsonMiller in Tampa, has been promoted to regional business unit manager of community and regional planning. Stralow has more than 20 years of experience in planning and landscape architecture in the Tampa Bay region.

Also in Tampa, James H. Ledbetter has joined the firm as a project surveyor. He has nearly 20 years of surveying experience.

In other company news, Pavan Kalvala has joined WilsonMiller’s geographic information systems unit in Naples, Fla.


John Bailes, vice president and division manager of Greenville, S.C.-headquartered engineering firm Britt Peters & Associates, will lead the firm’s new Orlando office.

Bailes has 20 years of engineering experience, and most recently worked as a senior project manager for Walter P. Moore & Associates.


Richard Greer has joined the Miami office of design firm Leo A. Daly as aviation project manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of architecture, and has specialized in aviation/transit project management and design for more than a decade.


PSI has promoted Jeff Martineau to vice president in its Orlando office. He will oversee all the environmental profit centers in PSI’s Florida locations. He has more than 17 years of industry and management experience.


Diedra Case has been promoted to associate in the Asheville, N.C., office of Design Workshop. Case is a landscape architect and project manager who joined the firm in 2003.


Baker Barrios Architects in Atlanta announced the promotions of John Boggs Jr. and Lisa Lowe to the position of associate and Travis Vickers to associate principal.

Vickers leads the firm’s Atlanta architectural studio and has been with the firm since 2005.

Diego Saltes has joined the American Road and Transportation Builders Association in Washington, D.C., as senior economist. Saltes brings to ARTBA more than a decade of economic analysis and research expertise. His previous research has focused on the transportation, energy and construction markets. He previously worked as an economist at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.


Rocky McMichen, previously division manager of Robins & Morton’s Orlando division, was named senior vice president. He will continue to lead the company’s Orlando division, and will assume an increased role in planning.


Architecture firm Gresham, Smith & Partners, based in Nashville, Tenn., announced the following appointments.

Kenneth Beeler, located in the firm’s Atlanta office, was named an owner. He is a senior construction administrator in the aviation design group. Luis Cano, located in Fort Lauderdale, also was named an owner. He is an architect and senior project manager in the health-care design group. Grant Clifford, located in Tampa, was named an owner. Clifford is a principal in the aviation design group.


Charles A. McFeaters has joined Newcomb & Boyd in Atlanta as an electrical engineer. McFeaters received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.


Greg Johnson was promoted to vice president/general superintendent for IBEX Construction in Fort Lauderdale. The company also promoted Danny Arner to project manger.


Geotechnical contractor Hayward Baker appointed Edward J. Garbin as chief engineer for the company’s Southern region, based in Tampa.

Prior to joining Hayward Baker, Dr. Garbin was a geotechnical engineering manager and drilling manager for Universal Engineering Sciences, also in Tampa.


George R. Keller has been promoted to associate at Calvin, Giordano & Associates in Fort Lauderdale. Keller serves as CGA’s director of governmental affairs. He has more than 27 years experience in public administration, economic development, budget and financial management, planning and research.


Roger Hatton has joined HNTB Corp. in Lake Mary, Fla., as associate vice president and Florida construction management office leader.


Greg Savage has joined John S. Clark Co. in Winston-Salem, N.C., as a senior project manager. Savage has been in project management since 1977 and has been in the North Carolina construction market since 1999.


Catalfumo Construction and Development in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., announced additions to its staff:

Felix Canino joined the firm as in-house assistant legal counsel. He has more than 20 years of experience in real estate law. Michael Katz was named sales associate for the Catalfumo Construction division.

Zachary Young was hired as a project analyst for Catalfumo Construction and Development.


Joanne Harrell was elected secretary of the Society for Design Administration. Harrell is the director of finance for Hunton Brady Architects in Orlando.

SDA is an organization for design firm administrators and managers and is dedicated to improving practice management in architectural, engineering and construction firms.


GATES of Naples, Fla., has hired Jennifer Rodkin as marketing assistant. She brings six years of marketing experience to the position.


Miller Legg, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm in Pembroke Pines, Fla., promoted Jose Acosta to director of engineering for the state. He will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s engineering departments in all six offices.

Also in Pembroke Pines, Sherry Rini and Diane Valentini joined the firm as business development specialists. Rini has more than 10 years of experience in graphic design and business development. Valentini has 17 years of marketing experience.

In Port St. Lucie, Miller Legg promoted Sandra Smith to principal. She will take on additional responsibilities, including serving as principal-in-charge for specific proposals, projects and continuing service contracts.


Reynolds, Smith and Hills in Jacksonville, Fla., hired Jeffrey Prewitt as transportation and public infrastructure programs senior environmental consultant, serving northeast Florida. Prewitt has more than 20 years of experience in environmental consulting. Also in Jacksonville, RS&H has hired Jennifer Anticknap as a geographic information systems analyst to serve in its transportation and public infrastructure programs.

In Orlando, RS&H named Gregory John Hornbeck senior engineer and project manager serving the transportation and public infrastructure programs. 


Diane Audia has returned to Garcia Stromberg Architects of Boca Raton as an associate. She will work as a project architect. Audia has earned her five-year bachelor’s degree in architecture from the FAU School of Architecture.

The firm also announced the addition of Crystal Nanney to its Stuart, Fla., office as project architect.


Michael Ramer recently joined Andrew General Contractors in Orlando as a superintendent. Ramer has 27 years of commercial and residential development experience.


Mindy D. Carlisle has joined Calvin, Giordano & Associates as director of the company’s Orlando office. Carlisle most recently served as the county engineer for Sumner County, Tenn.


Bayside Engineering in Tampa has hired Leah Forero, Jason Sysak, Jordan Caviggia, Kshipra Dave and Mikhail Solovev.

Forero was named a senior drainage engineer in the transportation program. She has over 12 years of experience in civil engineering design. Sysak is a project manager in the land development program. He has over 11 years of engineering experience.

Caviggia was named a transportation engineer. He previously worked for the past five years for the Pennsylvania DOT.

Kshipra Dave is a design engineer in the transportation program. She has more than three years of experience in civil engineering design.

Solovev is a senior CADD technician in the land development program.  He has over 15 years experience. 


Jack L. Byrd, Jr. was named existing building sales manager at Shaw Mechanical Services, a service-based mechanical contracting company headquartered in Orlando. Byrd is responsible for overseeing maintenance agreements on existing buildings, and for sales efforts throughout Central Florida.


Concorde Construction of Charlotte, N.C., has hired David Glass as a senior project manager and Don Jordan as project manager.


Stan Byers has joined Mathews Construction in Tampa as director of construction operations. Byers has 15 years of construction experience, and most recently worked as a construction manager for Kraft Construction in Sarasota, Fla.


Angela D. Wilson was appointed controller/business manager at Mainstream Construction Group in Altamonte Springs, Fla. She has more than eight years of experience in the construction industry.


Paul A. Butsavage has joined QORE Property Sciences in Duluth, Ga., as Georgia regional manager. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. He will manage the Atlanta branch office, and oversee services and team members throughout the state.

The company also hired David G. Schlobohm as branch manager of its Orlando and Jacksonville offices. Schlobohm joins QORE after most recently serving as director of utilities for Charlotte County Utilities. He has more than 25 years of senior management and engineering experience.


J. Russell (Russ) Ashburn III has joined NOVA Engineering and Environmental in Atlanta as its Georgia transportation services program leader. He has more than 22 years of industry experience.


William Lassiter was promoted to project manager at Palmer Electric Co. in Winter Park, Fla. He has been employed at Palmer for more than six years.


F.L. (Rick) Green has joined Ellis & Associates in Jacksonville as private sector business development associate.


Breaking Ground Contracting Co., a commercial general contractor based in Jacksonville, Fla., hired Ellen Leroy-Reed as marketing and communications coordinator.


H. J. High Construction Co. in Orlando announced several appointments.

Bryan Pickens
and Steve Radcliffe were named project managers. Gary Caussen was appointed estimator. Rob Moursalien was hired as assistant controller. Leslie Fierstat was named project assistant.
