Derek Piper has been named area manager for Parsons
Brinckerhoff Quade & Douglas in Columbia, S.C.,
the U.S. infrastructure arm of Parsons Brinckerhoff. He will
be responsible for managing PB's operations in South Carolina.
Piper has 20 years of experience in designing and managing
civil and transportation engineering projects. He previously
served as a supervising civil engineer at PB.
William G. Morthland was recently
appointed vice president and Florida operations manager for
Hunt Construction Group of Tampa.
Morthland joins Hunt with 25 years of Florida market experience.
Over the past 10 years, he has served in an executive level
capacity with Sverdrup, Welbro/Baker Mellon Stuart and Turner
Construction Co.
Susan Jenkins has joined Skanska
USA Building of Orlando as vice president and project
executive. Her responsibilities include supporting and expanding
the operations team and business development efforts of the
Orlando office.
Jenkins brings over 24 years of experience to Skanska. She
previously served as the managing director for Triad Investors,
a commercial real estate development company and as senior
vice president of Morse Diesel International in New York,
where she was in charge of on-site construction operations
for the aviation sector.
Brent Heath was hired as project
manager in the water/wastewater group in Jones
Edmunds' Gainesville, Fla., office. Heath has more
than 12 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry.
Prior to joining Jones Edmunds, Heath was with McKim &
Creed in Clearwater, Fla., for six years. He recently relocated
to Gainesville, Fla., with his wife and two children.
Heath will be responsible for project and client management
on a variety of design projects including wastewater collection
and treatment, reclaimed water transmission and water distribution
systems.
J.R Crowell was hired as director
of Rosser International's education
design studio in Atlanta. He will be responsible for the project
management, design and marketing of he firm's education projects
throughout the country.
Crowell brings 25 years of experience in the comprehensive
design and project management of education, laboratory, commercial
and high-security government facilities. Prior to joining
Rosser, he served as a vice president for HOK in that firm's
Greenville, S.C., office.
Alycen Whiddon has joined HDR
in Atlanta as community planning and urban design business
group manager. She brings more than 25 years of experience
in community planning, urban design, comprehensive plans and
zoning code development and administration.
Before joining HDR, Whiddon served as a principal with Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh
& Associates.
Mike Martindill has joined
The Haskell Co. of Jacksonville,
Fla., as director of business development for the company's
newly formed parking solutions division. Martindill has 25
years' experience with parking structures and has been involved
in the planning, design and construction of more than 200
parking projects. He previously worked for Walker Parking
Consultants in Atlanta where he was director of business development
and senior parking consultant
Also, 20-year Haskell veteran Denise
Ramsey was promoted to corporate chief engineer and
vice president. With her promotion, Denise Ramsey will be
responsible for promoting engineering practice across the
company, serve as an external spokeswoman for Haskell's engineering
practice and will work with state licensing agencies to maintain
the company's professional engineering practice and ethics.
Paul Macheske was named director
of healthcare architecture at HuntonBrady
Architects in Orlando. Macheske will be responsible
for promoting best practices, quality control and recruitment
of professional staff. He has more than 15 years of experience
in healthcare design.
The firm also announced the addition of Marianne
Dorbish as a designer in the interior design department.
Also, Evan Hussey will serve
as construction administrator on commercial and education
projects. Robert DiLena will
serve as a senior project coordinator on health care projects.
He has over 20 years of experience in design, project coordination,
code research and programming.
WilsonMiller, a Naples, Fla.-based
planning, design and engineering firm, recently hired Iqbal
Hossain as a senior project manager in its Fort Myers,
Fla., office. Hossain has more than of 12 years of engineering
experience in water and wastewater treatment plant planning,
studies, design and construction.
The firm also hired Kathleen G. Prutos
as business communications manager in its Naples office. Prutos
has 25 years of professional experience as a senior executive
and consultant, including 17 years as president and CEO of
Prutos Public Relations of Naples, and eight years with Chicago-based
Bozell & Jacobs.
Daniel A. Dock, a 28-year veteran
of the bridge consulting industry, is the new vice president-engineering
for Finley Engineering Group
in Tallahassee.
Prior to joining FEG, Dock was responsible for the overall
operations, business development and project oversight for
Parsons Corporation's bridge engineering and bridge construction
inspection offices in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and
Tennessee.
Richard Peebles was recently
promoted to senior vice president at Hardin
Construction Co. in Atlanta. Peebles is in his 12th
year as a Hardin associate, having joined the firm in 1993
as a project manager.
Also, Borja Del Nido was promoted
to project manager in Hardin's Orlando office. Del Nido joined
Hardin in January 2004 as an assistant project manager. Also
promoted to project manager in Orlando was Randy Brownell.
Brownell joined Hardin in 2001 as an assistant project manager.
Also, Bryan Smith and
Alex Fox were recently promoted to the position of
superintendent.
Smith joined Hardin in 2002 and was promoted to project area
superintendent in 2004. Fox began his career with Hardin in
1998 as an hourly field engineer.
Thomas Harrelson has joined
Earth Tech as vice president
of business development for its transportation business in
the southeastern United States. Harrelson will be responsible
for the development of large-scale transportation projects
in Florida. Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama,
Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Prior to accepting his new position, Harrelson worked as
a consultant in the transportation and water/wastewater markets
for Earth Tech.
Lynn Rutan has been promoted
to vice president of marketing for Christiano
Construction Co. of Clearwater, Fla. Rutan has more
than 11 years experience in the construction and engineering
industry and is responsible for strategic business development.
Philip L. Trezza, Jr. has been
promoted to associate at Harvard Jolly
Architects in St. Petersburg, Fla. Trezza joined Harvard
Jolly in 2000.
Douglas E. Smith has joined
Clancy & Theys Construction Co.
of Orlando as superintendent. Smith is a 25-year commercial
construction veteran.
The Stellar Group of Jacksonville,
Fla., recently announced several promotions. Tim
Dickson was named senior project manager in Stellar's
process division, where he will be responsible for project
development, design and management of project activities.
He has nine years of design and construction experience.
Scott Mark was also promoted
to senior project manager for the process division. Mark has
more than seven years of related experience in construction
of food processing and commercial facilities.
Reymond Prieto was promoted
to senior project manager for the refrigeration parts and
service division. Prieto began his career at Stellar more
than nine years ago as an engineering intern focused on the
design of ammonia refrigeration systems. Subsequently, he
has held the positions of field engineer, design engineer,
and most recently, project manager of refrigeration projects.
Tom Draper was promoted to
senior project manager for the commercial division. He has
more than 15 years experience in commercial, industrial, educational,
highway and transportation projects and is a four-year veteran
of Stellar.
Buck Smoak was also promoted
to senior project manager in the commercial division. Smoak
has more than 16 years of experience in design/build and construction
management.
Tim Baldwin, a vice president
with engineering and surveying firm McKim
& Creed of Cary, N.C., has been named director
of total water management. In this new role, he is responsible
for researching and planning for emerging trends in water
management.
Also, John Farnsworth has joined
McKim & Creed as the engineering manager of the Cary office.
During his 30-year career, Farnsworth has managed the technical
and administrative operations of a full-service engineering
and architectural firm in the Midwest. In his role as engineering
office manager, he is responsible for facilitating projects,
maintaining client-relationships and energizing technical
teams.
Richard L. Spreitzer, Jr.,
has been named facility assessment task coordinator at NexDSS
in Kennesaw, Ga. He will also serve as in-house roofing consultant.
Spreitzer has more than 20 years of facility assessment experience
in the roofing and construction industry.
Chris Dover was recently promoted
to the position of sales representative for Thompson
Pump & Manufacturing Co.'s Orlando branch location.
Dover previously served as a field service technician for
two years. His territory will include Orange, Osceola and
Polk counties.
