Drew Fredrick has been named
vice president of construction for Duke Realty Corp.'s Raleigh,
N.C., office. Fredrick will oversee Duke Construction's efforts
throughout the region. He joined Duke in 2003 as a project
manager. His previous experience includes heading various
office, industrial, retail, institutional and ecumenical projects.
The company also promoted Todd Johnson
to preconstruction director in its Atlanta office, where he
will be responsible for leading the preconstruction and development
services departments. Johnson joined Duke in 1998 and first
worked in the company's Cincinnati office as a construction
superintendent.
Michelle "Shelly" Reed was
promoted to project manager for Hardin Construction Co. in
Tampa. Reed joined Hardin in 1994 as a project accountant
and most recently worked as assistant project manager.
Also, Raenu Tantiviwat has
been promoted to senior staff accountant for Hardin's Atlanta
office. Tantiviwat has been with Hardin since April 2000.
Rebecca Ward has joined Atlanta-based
Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates as managing
principal of the architecture firm's interiors group. Ward
has over 25 years experience in corporate interior design,
asset and project management. Prior to joining TVS, she spent
13 years with AT&T's corporate real estate department.
Most recently, Ward was a principal with Interior Architects'
Atlanta office.
Nathan Hedges was recently
hired by Holder Properties of Atlanta as manager, development.
In this position, Hedges is responsible for overseeing the
development process of various Holder Properties' projects.
Prior to joining Holder, he worked at Skanska USA and Hardin
Construction for seven years.
Dan B. Wilson has been hired
by The Haskell Co. of Jacksonville, Fla., as director for
its development services division. Wilson will coordinate
and facilitate activities that assist with pre-development,
design, construction and post-construction management.
Wilson previously worked for the state treasurer in Raleigh,
N.C., as an investment analyst responsible for venture capital
and real estate investments for the state's public pension
fund.
Arlene Loper and Christina
Coddington were recently hired as designers within
the interior-design department at Farmer Baker Barrios Architects,
an Orlando-based commercial architecture firm.
Michael Luckett has been named
project manager at MACTEC Engineering & Consulting of
Kennesaw, Ga. In this role, he will manage projects for Ingersoll
Rand, Northrop Grumman, ChemCentral and the City of Carrollton,
Ga. He is also responsible for developing new business with
industrial clients.
Luckett has more than 30 years of experience as a professional
hydrogeologist.
Laverne G. Fernander has been
hired as project manager for the educational facilities division
of Catalfumo Construction and Development, Palm Beach Gardens,
Fla. Fernander is a veteran of numerous school, municipal
and public works projects, and has nearly two decades in the
construction industry. She also has held academic positions
in business management and developed construction-related
courses for the FAMU/FDOT Construction Management Development
and Guarantee Bond Program.
Scott Bryan has been promoted
to project manager at J. Raymond Construction Corp. of Longwood,
Fla. Bryan joined J. Raymond Construction in 2001 and most
recently served as an assistant project manager.
Jacqueline Dasta has been hired
by Garcia Brenner Stromberg of Boca Raton, Fla., as director
of marketing. Dasta will be responsible for overseeing the
firm's marketing efforts, including communications, advertising,
public relations and business development.
Winston W. "Bud" Gardner,
COO of TLC Engineering for Architecture, Orlando, has been
elected chairman of the Florida Space Research Institute.
The group promotes collaboration among academic institutions,
industry and federal agencies to support statewide aerospace-related
education, training, research and technology development.
Cheryl Harris of Construction
Resources Group Inc. in St. Petersburg has been selected to
manage The Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors
Association. Florida RACCA was established in 2001 as a statewide
association and has local chapters in Fort Myers, Sarasota,
Jacksonville and Tampa.
